VOTE FOR MIKE
As a member of SIRA I have seen first-hand Mike’s passion and love for the sport. During this past year, as chairman of SIRA, he has shown strong leadership and an understanding of the issues our great sport faces. Curling has a difficult future with many hurdles to clear, someone with his knowledge of how the sport functions and operates would be a valuable addition to Scottish Curling.

I have known Mike Ferguson for many many years, during this time I have worked alongside him on a number of curling related projects some of a more serious nature, others less so, I have always enjoyed the attitude and aptitude of Mike's approach. I have noted a couple of examples below.
Mike took on the role of Chairman for Scottish Ice Rinks Association (SIRA) a couple of years ago and along with our strong committee we have reinvented the organisation and have become the driving force for all the rinks in the country, one of our main achievements recently - the recent successful "Ice Rink Funding Support Grants" to help rinks survive due to Covid-19 Pandemic. Mike is a true leader.
Mike has been responsible for creating and developing new competitions to encourage more grass root participation, an issue very close to his heart. He is passionate about our sport.
I had the pleasure to curl with Mike in a number of competitions and he loves the pressure and being pushed outside of his comfort zone. Mike is a tough competitor.
On a lighter note, after enjoying post curling match refreshments, we were locked out of our hotel....! Mike came to the rescue and gave us a lift back to the rink to pick up the hotel keys we had left behind to allow us to get to our beds! Mike is a loyal friend, the kind of person you want on your side.
All of these achievements are only enhanced by his beautiful wife and family.

VOTE FOR MIKE
Having worked and curled with Mike for more years than I would like to remember I know for a fact he has a passion for curling beyond that of many and he simply wants to see curling flourish both on and off the world stage.
I have witnessed the many improvements Mike has made at Forfar since acquiring the business, which has helped build a great reputation and establish Forfar in the curling world.
His business skills have helped create a solid foundation to build on for years to come. I know the FCCC members greatly appreciate all that Mike has done for curling in the local community and beyond.
I fully support Mike’s application and believe he will make an excellent RCCC Vice & eventually President.

Mike Ferguson’s role as Vice-President of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club would certainly place the position on a high profile. I have worked with Mike in his position as Chairman of the Scottish Ice Rinks Association and he has been the ideal leader of SIRA during the current pandemic. He has been responsible for ensuring that substantial funds from Scottish Government have been made available to be disbursed to private sector ice rinks. It is no exaggeration to suggest that this assistance will sustain most or all of these rinks to be in business for the start of season 2021/22 where many faced the prospect of closing their doors without these funds.
Mike is well-known to curlers throughout Scotland through his ownership of Forfar Indoor Sports and in recent years participation in the Scottish Seniors Championship and Scottish Province Championship. He is also well known as good company when it comes to the social side of curling.
I have no hesitation in supporting his nomination to be next Vice-President of The Royal Club.”
